PANAMA CITY — North Bay Haven moved to 2-0 on the young season with a 16-6 victory over Bay, with the Tornadoes falling to 0-2. Katie Walters pitched three innings and struck out six batters to get the win for the Buccaneers, while Jaden Farrell and Lauren Freed combined for six strikeouts in three combined innings of relief. Lauren Freed led the NBH offense by going 4 for 5 with a triple, a double, and two RBI, while Walters also had four hits, including a double, and two RBI. Kylie Burch and Melanie Brock each had two hits for the Buccaneers and Brock added an RBI. Alex Wilson took the loss for the Tornadoes, giving up eight hits and two walks while striking out five batters. Valeria Veras, Taylor Altman, Tiffany Akkos, Amber Smith, and Olivia Bailie all had one hit each for Bay. NBH next plays its first district game Saturday against Taylor County in Perry. The Tornadoes next play Friday at Blountstown.
