BAY HIGH TORNADOES WORK THROUGH SPRING PRACTICE

PANAMA CITY, Fla. - The Bay High Tornadoes are in the middle of their third spring under head coach Mike Watkins. After winning the county title two years ago, Bay High struggled through 2017, going just 2-8. But you could chalk that up to a rebuilding year, as the Tornadoes were one of the youngest teams in the area. The good news is those guys are a year older, and Coach Watkins says he's excited about the development and leadership he's seen from this rising junior class to go along with the few seniors he'll have. Long term, the goal is not only to reclaim the county, but compete for the top spot in the district that West Florida has held down for the last half decade. November is a long way away, but accomplishing those goals starts right now. "You can't get to that point unless you win every opportunity you've got, so I try to keep it pretty simple here,” Coach Watkins says, I want to win every day. If we have chance at a workout, practice, a team meeting, then hopefully our attitude is right. If our attitude is right, our effort is right, then our result will be right. If you have more pluses in that category than minuses, then that will hopefully help you in your win column. That's how we approach it - win the day."
